Our weather in Galveston was great on Sunday.
Mid 70's and low humidity. Almost felt like an early summer day in MN.
Put the Mimi together and ran about an hour and then added a couple spuds, small chops, some green stuff, six wings almost filled the Mini. Cooked 4 speciality sausage, philadelphia cheese steak flavor and finished with a yellow fin tuna filet. No pictures of the last couple.

Thanks for all the Mini posts over the last several weeks. This would be a great camping or traveling grill but my XL just smirked knowing he could have saved me 4 hours and cooked it all at one time.LOL

    Thanks Bill.
    It was fun.
I like the way you cook with wine...
    Yea, the gasket.
I was planning on cooking with the original gasket
after reading more poss posts about gaskets.
When I unboxed and started setting up I unwrapped the Egg and the dome gasket was stuck so well to the plastic wrap that it pulled off clean with no resistance just trying to unwrap. It did come packed with an extra set of gaskets but I decided to add the Rutland and be done with the problems.
The dome was nice and level but the base had two high spots on left and right side. I used a sanding block and made them flat and the dome now fits flush.
The fire box also had poor over moldings around the air holes. Two were blocked almost 50%. I used a cone shaped grinding die to round the holes open and also sanded the edges and surface of all the ceramics to take off the bumps and glops.
The draft door still need a little work. The fit is real loose.
The daisy wheel and ceramic top fit nice.
Also kind of suprised it did not come with feet.
The bottom of the mini is notched to fit the feet.
Cooked almost 5 hours on few pieces of lump and only added a couple wood chips at the start of each cook.
Thanks again for all your help and posts.

    Thanks Larry.
Your photo, this exact one, was the one that pushed me into my first Egg. It is a cooking machine.
My wife came out and looked in the mini as it was cooking "6" wings and just shook her head. "That's not even enough for a snack". "Are you cooking more on your real Egg?" Wings on the mini are a waste of time.

There's no denying the cuteness of the mini. My buddy has a mini and an extra large. My first eggsperience was at his house. He was searing steaks on his XL. I think that it was like a special initiation process when he had me "peek" into the extra large while the steaks were searing and I almost melted my face. :woohoo: Thankfully, my eyebrows and eyelashes grow fast. Anyone else ever have that experience??

Thats funny...If you look at the Mini next to the XL it's a BIG difference.

Are you sure your "buddy" didn't catch you eyeing his wife?
Friends don't let friends open searing temp eggs.
    Funny story.

Even my small next to the XL looks like a toy.
The Mini look like a paper weight.
I'm used to loading the XL as well.

Wow!! That's the way to break in the mini. How long did it take you to cook everything?

    Hi Anne,
Total cooking time a little over 4 hours.
Total burn time about 5 hours
Potatos and wings both took about an hour each.
The chops, green stuff, tuna steak and sausage were much faster.
My friends in MN have a cabin near Spooner WI.
Beautiful place. Last time I visited a big tornado had blown through the area (Siren I believe) and made a mess. Can't wait to visit again.

    Thanks Bill.
That will be my next mod.
    Daisy fits pretty well.
A little sloppy side to dide but it fits flush.
I don't think enough play to add gasket all around the inside.
The other strange thing is the draft door housing has 3 washers on the right side and one on the left.
I guess the Egg is thin on one side. I will remove two and cut the screw it fit.
Thanks for posting photos of your fix.

Spooner is a nice area. We used to vacation there with my family when I was younger. Great area for muskie and walleye fishing. It's the world's largest muskie hatchery.
