Your first picture looks good!

That's funny stuff.

Still learning photobucket. It helps if you don't move the pic into an album after you post it here.

WingRider-
Good looking scallops. If you want your bacon a little crispier when your scallpos are done, you could microwave it for a minute befoe you wrap the scallops.
Brian in PA -
Actually I did for three minutes.
The problem is that it is THICK slice bacon.
Probably should have nuked it for 5 mins. -
Did you have any problem with the timing of the bacon and the scallop cooking. I heard that some people partially cook the bacon. Any advice?
-
I only ever made them with regular bacon, not the thick stuff. But I didn't have to mic them for long. Last time I made scallops,I cooked them direct.
-
I precooked the bacon in the microwave for 3 minutes.
But seeing as how it is THICK slice, I probably should have nuked it for 5 minutes. Regular thickness bacon, I usually nuke for 2 minutes before wrapping the scallops.
These were on the 350-375 degree egg, indirect, for about 25-30 minutes, and the scallops were about 125-145 degrees. -
It depends what is in the fridge. When I use regular thickness bacon, I usually nuke it for 2 minutes. I also usually try to use Grade B maple syrup to mix with the lemon juice for the marinade.

Nice job, Wayne!
FYI, you can always come back and edit your own post at a later time. That way, if you've moved your original picture to another album, you can go back to Photobucket and copy the link again then just paste it into your original post. -
Look great. Started to get some last week but were awfull small. Bout getting weather to ride an't it?!! :woohoo:
-
Is that a grill skillet with a removeable handle? Where did you get it?
-
I got it at either Lowes or Home Depot last year.
The handle was modified to make it removable. Originally it just folded, I took the wooden spacer out of the handle.
Wayne -
That it is. I took a short ride last week.
Wayne -
Ah, now there's a thought...
I've seen the folding handle ones. I'll have to give that a try. -
I pre-cook the bacon on the egg. Great flavor that way. Only takes a few minutes, same as microwave, but you get better flavor. Besides, I don't own a microwave. Try it, you'll like it.
