Thought that all was well when I left on the final run of the day for the last of the groceries...guess which vent I didn't open on the DigiQ adaptor? Yup...when I got home to check on the food, the Q was flashing "Lo" at me, and I knew just what happened. Anyway, it got down to 170° and I just made adjustments to the pit temp for 275°. Guess we'll be eating just a bit later tonight. Here's what I had going:
I'm thinking closer to 18:30 my time now...will have the final results later on this evening.

Been there, done that. It's worse when you forget to put the pit probe in the egg! Come out of the house and the needle is pegged at 800.
-
800 - Now that would ruin your day! I'll have to remember that one.

It's going to be good Mike

Just wanted to say "hi". You've been a busy little bee....see ya soon.

Been there done that Mike.

Nice to see you back Mike! Hate it when things like that happen but will check out finnal post in the morning. Working days and 2:15 am comes early partner.

You guys really know how to put a nice spin on things. I don't feel so bad now--everyone's eaten well, and the food turned out just fine. Thankfully, the temp went down instead of going up to 800
Appreciate the support! -
Ross,
Everything turned out just fine (albeit a bit later than what I'd planned...) so lesson learned from today's cook: check the damper.
Got some steaks on deck for tomorrow...been slacking on the ribeye challenges with you, Ross! Hope that you're well, buddy! -
Well Howdy, Ms. Judy! Send Mr. Leroy my warm regards, too--yes, work/kids/wife/etc. have been taking up lots of time. Been wanting to get back to posting on here again.
I look forward to cooking alongside the Spring Crew at the Eggfest this year! -
PBM,
I sure am glad that I had the pit probe attached, otherwise I would have had to go to Plan "B" for dinner -
The Good Lord took care of things--thankfully, I was able to recover from the mistake. I set the pit temp to 275 and let it recover. Fired it up to 300 during the last 30 minutes to finish off the sauce. Everybody ate nicely tonight, JL. Glad to see that you're still kicking out there in AR. I still can't get the image of that cat in the fence out of my head
Hope you've been able to get some riding done out in the nice weather!
