A simple NY Strip

So yesterday, my wife takes the kids to visit some family for a few days during their spring break. While she's traveling, she calls a few times from the road to check in, let me know how far they've gone so far, etc.....but during one of those phone calls, she mentions that she picked up some strip steaks 'cause she knows I'll probably be seeking lots of red meat while she's gone 
. Well last night I didn't get to indulge because of a very late meeting with a customer, but tonight.....my perfectly grilled steak! One of life's simple pleasures!

4Runner, I didn't take an internal. I did a TRex...2 minutes a side with a dome of 650, then shut down the vents, raised the grid, and roasted for 8 minutes at ~400.
Where I cut was the thickest part, most of it was medium rare.

Looks like it's done "black and blue" - I love a good steak done like that.
