I am not a fan of fire on a boat, but I am sure some will do it. If I was going to do that, could I not set the egg up so that instead of the bottom vent being centered, it could be on the side, or even the back? If a spark pops out it would hopefully land in the water and not in the boat. Granted, even if that works, it does not stop all the potential fire hazards of having a fire on a boat.
