Just poking around Craigs Place I found a neglected Large Egg in the nest with mates for $200 . It has been near the beach so the nest is a bit rusty at the bottom, the bottom ring is bent up looks like improper installation and it needs a gasket I will get all that replaced and she will be re-hatched and good as new.

That is so nice of you to take it in and help.
-
So you got that egg. Dagum you. I have been talking to that lady for a week trying to get some pics. Glad it went to a good home.
-
I took a chance and made the 1hr 20min drive from P'cola. Well worth the trip. Are you in P.C.
-
I was surprised she still had it. It has been posted almost a month at least.
-
No but I am headed down to Destin in a few weeks for a conference. I live up in Alabama. I saw the posting earlier this week. I have been after her for a pic all week and she kept saying she would get one. Then today, you pop in on a white horse and snatch it up :P
I felt like it was a large, but would have asked her to wait until I could make the trip. I am probably 5 hours away. It is definitley worth your time. What other sizes do you have? -
I found it by chance. I did a craigslist search for a particular city. There were no eggs there, but it listed all in craigslist. That was really weird, so I started scanning the ads and saw that one. Even if I saw it a month ago, the trip ould have been hard to justify just for that egg.
-
Yea you would have had to drive quite a bit more. I just had to sacrifice my afternoon cooking my ribs and settle for some quick kabobs and hockey pucks.
-
I found her craigslist post humerous. They used it so much they got sick of it. That was strange.
-
Agreed, they are now using a weber??? There is no comparison. I didnt get it either. Even hockey pucks on the egg were good.
-
Is this your 2nd? Which other BGE's do you have
-
I know this is probably a dumb question but where on craigslist do you look for eggs? Is it under a category or do you type something in somewhere? THANKS!!
-
I have a new XL I am pretty new with the Egg. It has been sitting in the box in the garage while were re-modeling. I finally finished the table a few weeks ago and it has not cooled off yet. I found that sometimes it is a little too big. so something a little smaller was perfect. It looks like the sm, med and large have a little more versatility in some configurations. Sometimes I just don't need to feed the super tanker. So far my XL has performed eggcellent it just uses more lump on smaller cooks.
-
I just looked up grills in my area.
-
Don't pick a category...just type in Big Green Egg.LBGE Katy (Houston) TX
-
Just open a craigslist city and type big green egg. If you do it under the main page, it will pull them up, if they are there.
-
Stars in your crown, My Friend. Good job.
Mike -
This will be a nice addition. A small make a nice compliment for smaller cooks or sears.
-
I was pleased to find out that it was not an XL. I was looking for a lg or med. I would have found someone to trade with.
-
They can be good as new with a little effort. I picked this one up for $125, cleaned it up, my friend had a nest he gave me from an older egg, added the new spring band assembly, a new SS draft door and it's a beautiful cooking machine.......
-
Thats what I am talking about. A diamond in the rough.
-
Panhandle Smoker,
Congrats on the find. Did you upgrade your profile yet or is that three big guys?

I already updated. That is just two for now. If I find more deals like I may eggspand.
-
Very nice job. It looks brand new.
-
Was the egg in Walton county by the golf course? We looked at a used egg on Craiglist and decided not to get it. Sad, it was not taking care of. Glad you are going to give it a good home. :cheer:
-
That would be the one. Suprised you didn't snag it. It looks worse than it really is. I will post pics after restoration. It will be like new.
-
So your the one I'm gonna be in competition with to find my next egg on craigslist! :woohoo:
-
I guess it all about timing. This was the second good deal I have run across. The last guy was moving and sold every thing. I passed it on to a guy at work who wanted one.
-
We decided that since we do not have a truck that it would be too hard to try and get back and get it fixed up. I just couldn't believe that someone could leave it out in the weather and let it get so rusty. I love my Large and small, and we keep them under a sheltered area. I am glad you are fixing it up and giving it a good home.
-
Will it be an opportunity buy or are you looking for a particular size for your next egg?
-
Looking for a small. Probably should have snatched that one up Jim had. I made an offer but it wasn't enough. I never turn a decent deal down, but for some reason that day I just felt like offering. Anyways....... Im looking for a small in great shape that I might could pick up at a good deal. Holler at me if you see one. Thanks.
