Saying Goodbye to a Good Friend Tonight......

She has been with me thru thick and thin no matter the circumstances. She has provided for my family. She has been set on fire, kicked over in anger, used as a worktable, used as a vise, used to spray paint on and many many other tasks. She is and always will be in my heart. Even though she is no lady, she has cooked some of the best food around. :P
Tonight is her last cook on this plane of existence...
Because tomorrow I PICK UP MY 2 BRAND NEW EGGS!!!!!!

A Large and a Medium.... I am so excitedThis is the greatest signature EVAR! -
It's tough to let go of an old friend, but come tomorrow you'll know you made the right choice

Sell her on craigslist and get money for egg accessories. I bet you could get $50-75 for it.
-
I would say that is one heck of an upgrade!

A great move up...and two for one. Get ready to enjoy.LBGE Katy (Houston) TX

This is one purchase you will look back on and say, I'm glad I bought those.

If you have the room, keep it, despite the fact that the egg is a superior cooker, you will likely still use the kettle, from time to time, under certain circumstances, & whatnot & so forth...happy in the hut

I will hold on to it for a while. It will simply move to the camping gear storage part of my garage. This is the greatest signature EVAR! -
DrZaius, there was a thread eariler today about this very thing, I've had my current Kettle since prior to getting my first egg in 04, I don't use it that often, but every now & then I like doing burgers/dogs on it, sometimes wings, over plain Kingsford. It is a unique flavor & it is always fun to make a small nuclear bomb like mushroom cloud with the starter fluid :laugh:happy in the hut

Yeppers... Zippy!!!
In spite of having 3 Eggs..I still honor an "Old Friend" with a visit every once in a
while!!
Although I believe sometimes, he's green with envy...we somehow still get along just fine!!!
EvansI spent most of my money on good bourbon, and bad women...the rest, I just wasted!! -
Maybe after I get my egg on I could consider breaking it out and cooking something on it. I don't see that happening anytime soon. Bonnaroo in June will probably be the next time it has fire in it.This is the greatest signature EVAR!

Because of Zippys earlier post I have a steak on the old kettle right now

DrZaius,
You are jumping in with both feet. I don't think you will regret it.

At least you're saying goodbye. I have 3 gassers I have moved twice now. I just keep thinking they are worth something. :woohoo:

Man your place must look like a grill graveyard. I must admit that I have never owned a gasser. My father always had charcoal and I guess it just stuck. The guys at work are always ribbin me about there ability to get cookin really fast. Of course, I then send them the 60sec charcoal light from youtube. :PThis is the greatest signature EVAR! -
And I grew up with gas, even the offset we used at the store was heat regulated by gas. Many moons ago. Got my dad an egg 5 years ago, he never used. Some habits just don't go away.

I've said goodbye to a few of those, but, the greatest move I ever made was to a Large Egg. I'll never go back. I've a gasser sitting next to the egg that has been used to cook a quick hot dog for grandkids, but, otherwise, useless. The Egg reigns supreme.

I've gone through a few kettles also, they kept rusting out in the salty air we get around here. Love that breeze off the Atlantic.

That thing would make a darn nice little herb garden.
