Does anyone have an internet source that they can recommend for inexpensive apple wood chips?
Inexpensive being the operative word here.
Thanks...

You can probably get Sushi into Canada easier that you can get apple wood out, Unless he lives north of the US border.

I can normally find apple and cherry wood chips at any of the large grocery store chains such as Krogers.
The chunks are a little harder to find.

Only one Piney Woods I know of.
Here's John Henry's web site. He has good wood chunks and I recommend them.

These are great chips, from a local source (to me). They have great rubs, too!

found wide variety in choices and sizes at national hardware chain--not the great big outfits --very cheap

PineyWoodsBrewer,
Got the correct link up above now. -

I dont know the price range you're looking for but try Grate Grills and More. They have a good selection of wood chips and chunks.

My hot tip of the day is to try local firewood places. Sometimes they can have a great supply of different smoking woods. It's fairly cheep but it may be more time consuming than you bargained since you really need a band saw to make nice chunks and even then there is the time investment.

Bubba Tim and I started using Guava wood about a month ago. We absolutely love it! It is very hard, dense wood, yet the smoke is gentle and not overpowering. It imparts a truly delicious smoke flavor, not too strong. We recommend Guava highly, and have also become very fond of tangelo wood. Mesquite and Hickory have taken their place on the back of the wood shelf.

I really like it too. Did guava smoked cheddar for Christmas and it was very nice.

I've been using soaked chips, but this last time I decided to try chunks instead. The chunks seemd to smoke for a much longer time. All it took were 4 or 5 pieces. Based on my (limited) experiences, I think I prefer chunks over chips.
Even though it costs more, I buy my supplies from the place where I bought my egg. It's a family run store and that has a full range of smoking and grilling supplies. Besides, as efficient as the BGE is, I only buy a bag of lump charcoal once every few months. I will probably resort to the internet for some items that they don't have. -
Thanks Ray! This seems to be the best price so far, and best of all is I have a niece that lives in League City TX. Maybe she can load some in her truck next time she comes home to visit.
Take care...

I would call the local orchards. I bet you could get all you want for free.

Not sure where you are located, but the local QFC grocery store out here and sporting goods store called GI Joes or just Joes now has about the best prices compared to the local BBQ retailers by about 1.5 to 2 times better.

Another option is:

I buy most of my chips/chunks through them, free shipping if you have a nearby store to have it shipped to. Store locator is at far right position on the top menu bar
They also carry Royal Oak - which is an added bonus for me.
