Does anyone have a number to contact Royal Oak? I cannot log onto their website, it just times out. I cleaned my egg out and opened a new bag of Royal Oak lump, poured in the contents..............I picked out 6 pieces of rock of different sizes, the largest of which weighs 2.7lbs. Needless to say I'm VERY upset I'm gonna call as soon as I get a number for them. It took the whole bag of lump to fill my egg, usually I have 30% of the bag left over for next time.
I'll post a pic as son as my camera batteries charge.

Let us know if they have a special department for reporting moon rocks, concrete and fiberglass.
Awaiting your photo, it may beat my personal best for weight....Happy Trails~thirdeye~Barbecue is not rocket surgery -
they have a few guys on the forum that will alert them to any issues that come up.
here's a guy i talked with, via email. he's a good guy, and in a position to help you. fellow egger.
keep in mind that this is a natural product, and there's no way it can be made and handled and packaged that guarantees there won't be any rocks or chunks of the ceramic liner of the retort that gets into a bag now and then. certainly not without raising the cost of a bag.
and it happens to all charcoal, pretty much (check out the "Dirty Jobs" charcoal episode, on the discovery channel to see the way the stuff is made. they can't check each piece).

Lower right picture looks very familiar! I get 2-3 of those per bag, but nothing like the "boulders" you guys have seen, but this is only my 4th bag of RO
-
LOL, you get some huge ones. I haven't so far. I can just chuck mine out my back yard.
-
Nils,
I can not fined RO in Ven. Co. Do you know where I can find some?

Ross,
I found it here:
http://www.bbcenter.doitbest.com/home.aspx
I ordered it online for free shipping with pick-up at local store. Took 4-5 days to get to store, and they sent me an email when it came in.
Other store locations are: Port Hueneme, Ojai, and Santa Paula. -
Nils,
Thank You so much that was just to easy, I called the store Camarillo they said it would be Wed. Thank You again.

No problem!
They also solved my wood chunk problem: free ship-to-store for apple and cherry wood chunks that no one around here seems to carry.
I'll have to see if they will start carrying WGC & Hi-Mountain on their site, then life will be completely free from shipping costs! -
I've had a few small rocks from time to time, but, not boulders. I just add the rocks to the rocks around the Hibiscus bushes. Love the stuff, rocks and all.

Never seen it.

I was thinking about contacting them as well.
This past week-end I found a large chunk of asphalt that would have ruined my cook and not sure how the egg would have come out.

Rod,
It's good stuff. Zero sparks and clean burn instantly. TNW rates it pretty high. Unfortunately it is Canadian.

Are all of these boulders US boulders or foreign boulders? I just get rocks, not boulders like those. I saw one mention of Canada rocks.
