Dang - blew my second gasket tonight. First one blew on my very first cook. BGE sent me a new white one so I will give that a try. Hope this doesn't keep up. What a pain.

I had a similar experience and the white one works great now. Be careful abut having it overlap on the inside of the egg. Did you burn up a gasket by trying to trex something at high heat? You have to be a little careful about going to high heats with the lid open. Good luck!

I just got my first BGE two weeks ago and have blown my gasget.

What is the quickest way to contact the right people at BGE to get a white gasget.

Do you have the right phone number or email?

I emailed them using a form on their web site. Quick response and no questions asked.

On the high heat, this was at 550. This first cook was a 650 and the gasket peeled off. Not sure why. This time I think it was my fault. I didn't burb the BGE and I had salmon on a plank. I opened the grill at the 12min mark to check and suddenly the flames came up and caught the plank on fire. I soaked it in water for 2 hours but those flames got to it and then it caught on fire. The flames where probably as high as mid dome with it open. I then closed the dome and closed the vents and it was out. When I opened it the top and bottom felt stuck together and then they pulled off as I lifted the dome. No doubt the flames melted the felt which then stuck together. Still, seems like BGE could come up with a better gasket. Oh well, the white goes on tomorrow.

Hey guys, Have had some greate slower cooks but have struggled with the faster cooks. I did burgers and chops which came out ok but no problems with the gasket. Did the Trex on New Year's Eve with all kinds of problems, including gasket issues, still serviceable but won't be long for need of a new one. Check out the Naked Whiz website he has some good ideas on what causes gasket problems.

I'm going to back up a bit and buy some steaks on the cheap and experiment with them one at a time with a backup gasket in waiting.

    Good Luck, Mark

Yep, I'm having to replace my lid gasket after 4 cooks. The dealer gave me a free replacement. I hope it lasts this time.

I say again, all this fretting over gaskets is a waste of time. My large has been blown for way over a year and only has about enough left to keep the top and bottom from clanging together when I close it. It cooks just as good as always, shuts down well, and the smoke coming out around the top when my DigiQ fan kicks in looks kinda cool

Maybe so but I have no gasket at all right now. I'm heading to lowes to pickup the 3M 77 adhesive.
