Prime Rib Contest ~ The Final Three

Great job everyone. I had a wonderful selection of photographs to judge and honestly this is harder than I thought....After looking at all the pictures, there were basically three sub categories, and each got equal weight by the judge (me), in this first round of judging...... First there were the "raw or prep" shots, then came the "pit shots", and last were the "plate shots". (I created one extra category, the Nice Try award, which goes out to Richard Fl for trying to enter a pork crown roast.)

So after a lot of consideration, here are the three finalists. I will announce the winner this evening.

that's cool... thanks for including me.

perhaps i'm shooting myself in the foot, but i would have to think that a "raw" shot wouldn't win out over a cooked one, especially if you are trying to tout the product of an egg! chub's looks perfectly cooked, and ric is the only one left with the egg actually in the pic. you have boxed yourself into a corner hahahaha

flip a coin for chubby vs. ric

(i think fidel had a great shot of one on his egg, all that blue light, etc. but maybe that's just me being art-boy!)

I'll remember your comment about a raw shot if you loose and start whining. Heheee. Seriously, the three of you are all equal at this point.

I guess the judging is all in the eye, or this case the thirdeye.

Mine was from last year and I did not expect nor want to be included for consideration - not that it was that great a shot anyway.

I like all 3 of the finalists -- if it were up for vote I would indicate my preference, but this is all up to thirdeye.

All 3 are great photos.

Thanks for the kind words.....however flattery won't get you as far as that bottle of XO Calvados you mentioned in your email. I still want the tracking number before announcing the winner of the contest.

Personally I have to agree about the pic from Chubby. It really conveys the "prime"
