city ham - foil ?

Planning to do Alton Brown's city ham as the inaugural cook on my parents new Egg.

Is it a good idea to foil the ham as Alton does in the oven as it comes up to temperature (pre-glaze) ? Seems like it would be unnecessary in the Egg.
