Santa needed to pick me up a gift. I went to my local dealer, he does not carry any. I called another dealer about an hour away. He said he just sold the last one yesterday $12.99 for the large. I said cast iron? He said yes. Does this sound right?

Sounds like someone is trying to turn a profit. You wont live long enough to wear out three of them.

I had a heck of a time trying to get one for a Small. They kept confusing the cast iron cooking grate with the cast iron fire grate. Fire grate very much cheaper than the cooking grate. The good news, after a couple of months of trial and error when they finally got the cooking grate to me, the charged me the fire grate price, good people.

After reading WADoug's post. I'll bet they're thinking of the bottom fire grate.

No way!! I just ordered a 13" CI cooking grate for my small from my dealer and including shipping it was $39.95. Are you sure he wasn't talkin' about the Lump grate in the fire box.

Oops! Didn't see the prior post!
