I know this might be like asking which is better; Ford or Chevy, but I'm looking for the best BBQ sauce available for purchase. Looking for traditional BBQ and not the Maurice's type, mustard sauce.

I like blue's hog most of the time. Try this link www.hawgeyesbbq.com. You can find tons of things there

B B E...if you don't mind spending a little while making up your own BBQ sauce, takes about 1/2 hr, send me a e-mail and I will reply with a K C style sauce that I got from a Weber cook book that is very good. Not overwhelming with mustard or vinigar.

Not looking for homemade. Looking for some I can purchase. I've been sampling the homemade recipes from the forum and have had great fun preparing and tasting but need some good "over the counter" stuff.

Had a house guest a few months ago for 6 weeks, from Syracuse, NY and brought 2 gift boxes from her favorite place. Great stuff.

We keep sweet Baby Rays and K.C. masterpiece in the house. Both original. What I've been doing lately is using equal parts of both and adding some honey. It finishes off the ribs nicely.
-
Unfortunately it is not commercially available...yet.

First, you have to define what style of sauce you like. I personally don't like sweet sauce. I like a very spicy sauce, but I don't want it so hot that hot is the only thing present in the flavor. For my money, the best commercially available barbecue sauce in the country is Gates Original from Kansas City.
-
I like mixing Gates Original with a little honey to thicken and sweeten it a touch.
-
I like BluesHog, Sweet Baby Ray's and Dinosaur.

Thanks Steve, We are ready as soon as the label finishes. I have to taste one last batch to ensure it's right and then we cook. The graphic artist and will finish tomorrow and then as soon as the label is approved, it'll be for sale. I'm hoping in two weeks I'll have some to sell!

Different sauces for different meat for different moods.
Sometimes I like a nice spicy mustard sauce for chicken. Othertimes blues hog.
I really liked Bobby Q for my brisket. It was a little peppery.
Russ and Franks is pretty good.
I have about five different open jars in my fridge. -
Blues Hog Regular...period.
-
Uncle Dougies Mild Wild.
-
Blues Hog is wilding accepted in some form or another on the bbq circuit.
My perferecne for it is ribs and chicken.
Maybe cut with honey or strained.
Just tried Carinove Sauce for sausage, should be on Big'un site soon my technique for it.
Orginal Gates for brisket, brisket must be sliced and placed in pan to warm up with sauce.
Pulled Pork, add more rub when pulling then I like to add a mixture of a couple different suaces.

Depends on what YOU like. I haven't tried Blues Hog yet (haven't seen it in a store)
KC Masterpiece is my favorite for Ribs
Sweet Baby Rays (original)is my favorite for chicken
My kids prefer Sweet Baby Rays on their pulled pork.
KC Masterpiece and bourbon goes great on any pork. That being said, depending on what I feel like I will use either KCM or SBR for any pork as they both taste good and each has a unique taste.
SBR's is sweeter, neither is hot. -
for store bought. stubbs, sweet baby rays, and bone suckin saucefukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it
-
That is good stuff. I have been going thru the Original and Tennessee Red like crazy. I love a sweet BBQ sauce, so the Original is perfect for me.
-
I like old mule made here in North Carolina myself.
-
I will cook this one this weekend. It sounds great!
