It am some good stuff. This is what you do after the guests leave...unclog the plumbing from the aftermath of Mama putting the peels from 10 pounds of potatoes down the garbage disposal.
It's not as glamoriuse as a cell phone (or 3) in the toilet, but it will provide us with something to talk about in upcoming years.

did the pot peels once....last christmas in fact....
Got it done by doing plunger over the sink drain and plunging the disposal (I have two basins)...
Was 10 minutes from going under though.... -
What do you think Mike? I have been wanting to try that with a boneless scored Cure 81 ham.
Your car keys aren't under the sink. :woohoo:

Same here, but she really did it up right. The plunger couldn't save me this time.

That ham looks fantastic! Could you please post the recipe? Would love to try it. Haven't cooked a ham on our egg yet.

Maple-Bourbon Ham*
by John Hall (egret)
Ingredients :
Maple-Bourbon Paste (recipe follows)
10-12 # cooked, ready to eat ham (bone-in Butt or Shank section)
1/2-1 cup Maple Syrup
Cherry and Apple Chunks
Procedure :
The day before smoking, place ham in a pan flat side down. Inject in multiple locations with maple syrup (use more than 1 cup if it will take it).
Smear the Maple-Bourbon Paste all over the exposed surfaces (except flat side). Cover loosely with plastic wrap and put in refrigerator until ready to smoke (You can remove ham from refrigerator up to one hour before cooking).
Stabilize egg at 250° with plate setter (legs up) regular grid with raised grid attached. Put 3 or 4 good size chunks of wood on coals, then place ham on raised grid. Cook until internal temperature reaches 140° (this should take about 5 hours).
Maple-Bourbon Paste
2 Tbls. pure Maple Syrup
2 Tbls. freshly ground Black Pepper
2 Tbls. Dijon or Honey-Dijon Mustard
1 Tbls. Bourbon
1 Tbls. Vegetable Oil
1 Tbls. Paprika
1 Tbls. Onion Powder
2 tsp. coarse Salt, either kosher or sea salt -
The hams look great! Yes, the ones on the egg...not the ones on the floor.
Seriously, the potato peel sink repair is NO fun. At least you have tile on the floor....my bride flooded our kitchen in TN with the same trick...floors were hardwood. OUCH! Hope the potatoes were worth it! -
Looks Delicioso Mike...............BTW someone has to work on this forum..
-
Thank you! Can't wait to try that one.

I wonder where the term "Help Mate" originated?
