Lid not closing properly

My lid, as of last night (for the second time this month,) is not closing properly. It is like my wife says "wopper jawed". 2 weeks ago I called my dealer and he came and repaired it. But it is Sunday and a another meal is waiting to be prepared. Any help will be appreciated.

What size of an Egg do you have and describe what is wrong.

I have XL-BGE. Whn I open and attempt to close it, it seems to hang up or jump etc. When it is closed, it is not sealed, not even close to being sealed.

I figured you probably had an XL Egg. It is the only Egg with “spring assist” built into the bands that support the lid. It’s supposed to help you open the heavier lid on an XL. It sounds like it is either assembled wrong or needs some adjustment.

I wish I could help you but I own a Large and Medium. No doubt some of the other Eggheads will chime in during the day. Keep on your local dealer to make it right and don’ hesitate to call the mother ship in Atlanta for some tech support if you need it.

Good luck, once you have things properly adjusted you will love the Egg.

I'm not sure about the last reply,as my medium and small also have "spring assist",but maybe I read it wrong :huh: .Anyway,this is what the XL band should look like if installed properly.You need to make sure that the bands are against the ceramic lip on the base and dome.I hope this helps

You said that when you are closing you can feel it. Maybe if you have the wife or someone that can help you raise and lower the lid slowly you will spot something that isn't working correctly. As in where it's hanging up.
