Beer in Butt Chicken

Question - I was going to cook with drip pan. Do I need to use place setter as well?

Big K,[p]I cook my BBC on a beer can in a drip pan sitting on 2 firebricks. An inverted plate setter would work also.[p]Get ready for some kick a$$ tastin bird.[p]Mick

    Big K,
Just did two last night. We used a drip pan, but nothing underneath. [p]~nikki

    Big K,
We do ours direct at 350°. They are great, crispy skin, etc.
