I live in Southeast Texas where it makes big news if the temperature gets below freezing. If the forecast is for a freeze, the local news people start telling us what to do with our pets and plants and even suggest we wear coats...really. The big news around here is it's supposed to get down to 25 degrees tomorrow! Hearing that, I started to cancel my Saturday plans for cooking on the egg.[p]Then I read the Wall Street Journal article today about all you maniacs from the North (with pride, I might add) and figured I will brave the cold with my fellow "Northern" eggers and go ahead and cook away. Old Man Winter, bring it on. No wimps here![p]Bob

WudEyeDoo,[p]We'll be braving the elements together...![p]I'm in N. Florida and we're supposed to hit low 20's, which in my neck of the woods means it could likely end up in the upper teens. It's 39° now and my hubby had a big pot of chili going when I drove in from work tonight. Tomorrow's cook will be Dr. Chicken's Ham, on Sunday there are Memphis Style baby back ribs to cook, and for the Monday holiday (Martin Luther King Day) a nice turkey breast.....[p]Got my gloves on, a fire in the fireplace, and haven't decided what kind of liquor will warm me the best yet, but I'll struggle through, LOL![p]Stay warm,

    WudEyeDoo,
"get down to 25°??? We wish it will get UP to 25° here in IL. Either way I've got 2 butts totalling 17+ going on Sunday night for an overnight cook. Now I must admit I am spoiled though and will be monitering the dome temp and the meat temps inside while using a couple wireless thermometers.

    WudEyeDoo,
Just pulled a spatchcocked chicken off the Egg. Just checked the outside temperature ... 5 degrees F.
I must admit I occasionally envy those able to get to their Egg in shorts this time of year. Oh well.[p]Janet

    WudEyeDoo,
I know what you mean. I came home from work tonight and washed my truck. By the time I finished rinsing it off the hose looked like it had been treated with Viagra. And before I knew it my teeth were chattering and I had goose bumps on my arms the size of watermelons. I was freezing. Came inside and poured me a stiff one (pardon the pun) and checked the weather channel. 47° and getting colder. Time to close the schools and sand the overpasses. And for some reason I got this strong urge to go crank up my Egg and make smoke. You think Egg'n makes us a little nutz? [p]Spring Chicken

Man..that's cold..prolly get milk shakes from the cows tomorrow. I do plan on egging on Sunday..my brother..of Mr. McForehead fame..is making his way up here with his clan..and we're gonna egg something..just haven't decided what yet. I'll probably do what I usually do and go down to the Piggly Wiggly tomorrow and see what strikes my fancy. I cooked some wings tonight as appetizers..and there were definitely some things south of the border that were looking for a warmer place to be..if'n you get my drift.
