Help! I just got down to my winter home in St Matys, GA this evening and there is some sort of scat in the garage. It's about 1 1/2 inches long and 1/8-1/4 inch diameter; dark brown with a white plaster looking tip at one end. Does anyone know what this is? I'm thinking snake or lizard. Don't care about the lizard but would like to know if it could be a snake before I start looking for it!

I can't believe I am about to answer this.
It's probably from some animal. As it dries out it turns white. -
Thanks for responding but, just a 1/4 inch tip is white. Very obviously different from the rest of it. This is disgusting but it's really creeping me out. Antone else want to give it a try? I was here in August and there was no "scat".

I guess you have never seen dog poop on the lawn.
It's drying out and it's dries out from end to end. It some small animal.
Snake poop would have fur or other stuff in it from whatever it ate. lizard poop is a lot like bird poop.
I would bet what ever you went looking for is gone anyway.
If it is a snake it was probably there to eat the rodents that were in your house anyway. -
gee, how about a picture so that we can narrow it down? :woohoo: :woohoo:

I was avoiding that question!!!!

Have had dogs all my life and know what dried poop looks like and this "ain't" it. The white is bright white and smooth, like dried plaster. The rest is dark brown with texture. I've googled images and the only thing close (that I have found) is a lizard. Just thought someone from Georgia or north Florida might be on that may have seen this and know what it is. Thanks anyway, Marlin Darlin

I am thinking raccoon.
I agree with CW, we have a lot of lizards around here and their droppings look a lot lot bird droppings.
Could be snake...really hard to tell. -
