I bought my first large Egg in Seattle, Washington, in 1981. A neighbor broke and replaced it in 1989. I left it in the shipping crate and took it to Fairbanks, Alaska. I gained quite the reputation for smoked turkey. Now live in Anchorage, Alaska and have not gotten it out of storage. Came to this site to fine a new ash tool. Wow! Has the Egg changed. No more red clay--thermometers, pizza stones, plate setters??? A whole new world
