OK I admit it, I am a bum. This summer I had gotten so busy, my BBQ cart project had to go on the back burner.
Here is where we left off.
And here we are today, all that is left to do is load the egg, but I am going to wait for the finish on the wood to harden out a tad bit.
That is the overview, completely mounted, welded, powder coated (thanks for talking me into powder-coating)
There is a quick tray up front, a swing out towel, tool, grid rack on the right. The wood is red wood with a couple of layers of finish. The wood is screwed blind.
Swing out tool, towel, grid holder.
Here is the end view, looking at the storage area for grids, setter, pizza stone etc. And of course the mandatory bottle opener.
The aluminum deck is raised of the steel frame by an inch to do some temperature management. The aluminum is also mounted semi floating to allow for the difference in thermal expansion between aluminum and steel.
Some more pictures with details. Thanks for all the advice, input and praise along the way.

Man don't get that thing dirty.
Well thought out. Love the 'fenders'.
GG -
wow that is great,,, and diamond plate fenders, too.
nice job
needs some mini mud flaps, the kind with the naked babe silhoutte  -
Great cart! Good job.

Very nice and well thought out.
I got screwed blind once myself. -
That thing is great! You need to fab up some more and sell them. I particularly dig the flat fenders: Just like old Jeeps! When you gonna lift that thing and get some bigger tires? Put some 35's on it and you're ready for some 'Off Roading Q-ing'.

That looks great!!

screwed blind. nice idea.

I believe now-a-days the correct term is "Visually Impaired."
I realize that you have been out of the corporate world for awhile, but you really should try and keep up with the Diversity and Inclusion information. -
well, it would be nice to be screwed til visually impaired. but it doesn't have the same ring to it....ed egli avea del cul fatto trombetta -Dante

Excellent. You should be very proud. The craftsmanship shows in every photo.

I'd consider building/selling, but I am afraid the cost makes it cost prohibitive real fast (on the buyer side). I believe it has been said here before, if you want to save money on a cart, buy one.
I'd be happy to show some rough plans to anyone building one for their own use; or sell plans (Full AutoCAD drawing) to anyone who'd build these commercially. I'd even consider just licensing the drawings on a per build basis for anyone engaging in this commercially.
As is, what would be a reasonable price for a cart like this? The other killer would be shipping the thing across a couple of states.

Very nice! And heavy duty too.

Nice work. I think my favorite feature is the diamond plate Mud Flaps.Visit my blog, dedicated to my Big Green Egg Recipies at http://www.bigtsbge.blogspot.com You can also follow my posts on FaceBook under the name Keep On Eggin' or the link http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Keep-On-Eggin/198049930216241

On that third pic, I hope you really mean "brake", and not "break".
