What goes with tri-tip???

Getting ready to cook a tri-tip on the egg but don't know what to fix as a side? Any suggestions??[p]Dave

    Not sure if this is a side dish as such, but I like lots of sauteed onions and mushrooms. Hard to beat home made french fries either....[p]Kelly Keefe

    dgoat,[p]Tri-tip was "invented" in the Santa Maria area of Central Calif., and they serve it there with little pinto beans [called pinquitos] mixed with chopped fresh garlic and salt, fresh pico de gallo salsa, iceberg lettuce salad, and sourdough dinner rolls.[p]Enjoy!!

    Santa Maria pintos a smaller version of the regular version and Salza are the traditional dishes in Santa Maria CA where it was reputed to be invented. The meat is just rubbed with garlic then salt and peppered heavily,cooked over open grill until juice from meat puddles on top. Flipped then when juices puddle again flipped one last time. until juices puddle the third time. sliced thinly on the bias and served with medium to hot BBQ sauce or just salza with the beans as a side. Slices of grilled garlic bread complete the meal. [p]Elder Ward

    BBQ Corn on the cob right in the smoker...will cook while tritip is resting...also mashed potatos
