cincinnati demo cook

edited 6:22AM in EggHead Forum
today i did a demo cook in cincinnati at the anderson farmers market. it was huge fun and i can't believe some of the questions i was getting! :woohoo:
i met cincykid and rollocks and some friends of jappledog i'd like to thank them all for coming out.

i made omelets, pig candy, biscuits, flat iron steak, lamb chops, atomic buffalo turds, cows in blankets, grilled pineapple marinated in rum and brown sugar. here's a few pix

here's a sampling of the questions and answers i gave them:

- what is that?
- a big green egg... a ceramic cooker,,, a grill, a smoker, a brick pizza oven

- what are you selling?
- nothing... i'm cooking food and giving it away for free.

- why would you do that?
- what aren't YOU doing that?

- what's an egghead?
- someone that has big green eggs and is assimilated by the cult :woohoo:

- is that pineapple?
- no, it's ice cream! :P

- are you selling those things?
- nope, i'm just a member of the cult spreading the word of the big green egg.

- why are you doing this?
- because i can.

- it's free?
- yep, help yourself!

:woohoo:

    Sounds like great fun Rick.

Did you remember your big hat?
  • hahaha!

i had it but i didn't wear it. too hot

it was really strange because people just couldn't believe i was doing all that for free. they thought there was some kinda string attached or something

It's like a revival tent, except a lot tastier and the preacher is more likely to offer you an adult beverage than hector you for having one.

Spread the good word, Pastor Rick!! :woohoo:
  • Sad state of things these days, too many don't believe in doing something for others without the expectation of anything in return.

Good for you for showing that spirit lives...and in free food!

  • Rick,

It was great to finally meet you. The food was top notch and I'm glad you had a good day. My 15 month old (Alice) pounded a biscuit and LOVED the pig candy. It took her about 10 minutes to lick off all the brown sugar then she pounded the bacon. Not sure the wife would be happy about that but I was proud of her...

Your pics look good. Tell me more about your biscuits: my first effort in a DO was not good. Are those omelets done in a CI muffin pan?
