Yikes! Talk about contrast. I'm expecting about 84 today, and needing to water the last of my peppers and basil.

Oh my God I don't believe it!!!!!!! is this now or last winter ?????

Wyoming? We had about 8' of that stuff in Northern Illinois last winter. I am not so sure that I want to see any snow at all this winter.

Holy Smokes! Mr. Thirdeye......that's just not right.
I mean it's October. Ya know- fall colors, warm days cool nights, a little frost on the pumpkin, apple pickin, last harvest from the garden. But what you got.......that's just not right. :pinch:  -
It looks pretty light though.

Welcome to Global Warming.. Doesn't make logical sense, but in a scientific way it does.

Will this work in Casper Wyoming??
Hey Richard, that can and does work in Casper!! You must have ESP.....P&H has been a client of mine for 28 years. We just finished this dipper for the mine Expo Show in Las Vegas. When it comes to playing with fire and smoke....those guys do it every day. See, I take pictures of stuff other than food. :laugh:Happy Trails~thirdeye~Barbecue is not rocket surgery -

Now that you have a project for the day, I will go sit in the 86F pool and have an adult cocktail while waiting for my Maine lobsters to cook this pm. Happy shoveling!

We just got the edge of the same storm down here (so far). More snow today.
My pumpkins, corn, tomatoes and EGGS are are covered, but only with 2 inches. The way the skies look we are going to get more today.
You had a huge dump especially for this time of year. Hopefully it will melt before winter sets in.

OMG, is this for real? Isn't it a little early for snow? It is 92 degrees and Little Chef and I were in shorts (still are) at the range this afternoon. We usually get an early one or two. Here is a shot from the prairie cam taken in October of last year, the arrow is pointing to my house. The snow line is a little lower today.

Hey there thirdeye. i am in your neck of the woods. i was stuck up on 26 at waltmans rest area lastnight trying to go to yellowstone. we had to sleep there. we returned to casper this morning and drove to cheyenne cause i was in a little bitty car. the wind and snow was so bad you couldn't see the front of your car. it was a total mess. i'll post my pics if i can get them uploaded.
i took this pic about 15 miles into hwy 26
and this pic was taken 20 min later before we had to pull off at the rest stop.
i should have listen to the guy at the gas station he told me to stay put for the night. i learned my lesson always listen to the locals. -
On nights like that, these boys can't even help.....
I know what you mean, that's bad country out there for ground blizzards. At least you were able to get into that rest area, that road is so narrow there's hardly enough room to change your mind. The first motel was about 80 miles west in Shoshoni (there is only one), but most likely it was full of truckers.
On a lighter note, this is a great time of year to visit Yellowstone and the Tetons. It's like driving through a post card.Happy Trails~thirdeye~Barbecue is not rocket surgery -
yeah we were going to try and make it to shoshoni but didn't make it. i am sad i didn't make it to yellowstone but i didn't want to risk the family. so we are headed to salt lake city in the morning and then on to the inlaws for a week and then to my new home in sunny san diego. i will make it out here again. and teh crazy thing is that truckers and the locals were passing us at high speeds in that mess. i am moving from chicago and we drive crazy but man in that stuff i was so nervous.
