I notice the different taste from the lump vs briquets,its not a bad taste but it is different when you"ve been use to briquets for so many years. A taste that i will learn to acquire.
It takes a while for the kerosene, coal oil and borax to leave the palate. It's kind of like quitting smoking. Soon, all sorts of flavours will come in, you'll wonder what the h*ll you were eating before.
Oh, and you might want to let your lump burn a bit before putting the food on. Less acrid smoke that way. :sick:
no, it's true! I gag at the smell that drifts over from my neighbor's Weber! That horrible petroleum smell is the pits. Like a couple good o boys sitting around a fired up petro saying "don'tcha just love the smell of BBQ and steaks" as they smother the steaks in A1 sauce - another gagger to me!
Now, which one is worse the weber or the A1 sause? And how come he doesn"t have an egg by now seing he lives so close to you? you haven"t converted him yet? Haven"t you sent him a plate by now. :ohmy: :ohmy:
actually the two are equally offensive...the burning putrid petro fumes to the nose and the A1 to the poor cow so some mouth breather could smother the taste - let them cover dog crap with A1 as they can't tell the difference anyway! :laugh:
