it's been six days without power. this is not supposed to happen here. this is ohio! i'm patrolling the property with the 12 gage. at night, there are roaming packs of savages looking for something. looking for anything. 65,000 without power for six days. people are stealing the generators from the railroad crossings. not safe
i have water, but it isn't safe and boiling prior to use is necessary. off in the distance i can hear gunfire... big guns... like they are shooting pumpkins or something. i can hear people screaming. it echoes through the trees.
i'd really be hurtin if it wasn't for this rv and my eggs :woohoo:

Get use to it here. after the 3 in a row in 04 we were lucky that power only went out for 7 days after jeane. Never a pleasant experience but can bring the neighborhood together, or not. Great pics and hope you get your power back soon.

Rick is simply a fantastic photographer and cook. -
I am relatively new to eggdom but if any other egger in Southern and Central Ohio, Northern KY or SE Indiana is out of power I am here to help. Come down to my place in Cincinnati (Hyde Park) and we can fire up my XL and small. I've had power for a couple of days and know how miserable the week has been. Good food, LIGHTS, a hot shower if you need one and plenty of cold beer available for those in need. Let me know and I would be happy to serve.

How else do you capture all that light?
Kidding of course - it was a poke at your incredible abilities. -
a simple tripod held together with duct tape :P

i only have one ticket to the show
-
Well you know, duct tape is like an Egg...what CAN'T it do?

Not supposed to happen in Ohio. There must be some main transmision lines down for you guys to be out that long. I'm impressed that you have web access and you are posting. Good luck.
-
Well, at least you're not starving.
Just to be on the safe side, you might want to hang something like this in the front yard, then sprinkle some shell casings on the porch. It beats the he** out of a NO TRESSPASSING sign.

Dang, I thought my 31 hours here in southern Missouri was bad. Looks like you are making the most of it! And may I highly recommend the Black and Decker 750 watt power inverter for $65 from wally world that will run either a refrigerator or a small deep freeze off the car while keeping the laptop charged. Saved me a lot of good frozen foods, and kept me online.
And thoughts and best wishes to those in Texas who took the full force of the storm, I can't even imagine what they are going through now.... :( -
Great shots again, Rick! Sorry to hear about the power situation there...hope you get back to normal soon.
-
We sent 150 staff to the Columbus & Canton Ohio areas from our company here in Ontario, Canada to assist in the power restoration efforts. I hope you have your power restored soon but sure glad to see you and your eggs are doing okay.

Is that your friend I met a few months back?
I hope your not the only one on your street without juice. If so your waiting a long time. Loyd has a pole down in her back yard that supplies her house and two others. I bet they've got at least another week before they get power.

Have you set up the perimeter with trip wires yet?
-
Glad to see you're eating well.
The number of people out of power is overwhelming. Hopefully it will be restored soon.
