OT Software to track freezer inventory

I have searched for some time to try and locate a software program that will do food inventory (in and out). I want this for our freezers. Does anyone on the forum know of any software that would cover this?

Living Cookbook (www.livingcookbook.com) has some inventory management features, but it isn't the centerpiece of the software. It sounds like you might be looking for something for commercial use, and I'm not sure that would be the best option for that kind of heavy use. Seems OK for home use though.

Why not just use Excel or the like?

If you want some quick 'finished' looking reports then quickly punch up a pivot table or design some input screens and report screens.

Thanks for the ideas. I wish I was better at excel and making up reports. I had to replace my hard drive and I did not get my Living Cookbook put back on, so I'm working on that presently.

If you have excel the reports are very simple.

Pivottables are also very easy in '07 version and petty easy in '03 version.

For food inventory control/tracking, I would think you would want something pretty simple. Excel would be the easiest.

If you are wanting that inventory to interface into recipes then excel would probably not be a good choice.

If folks don't have excel or any office suite in general, there is a free multi platform alternative from OpenOffice.

I had seen this one earlier in the day. I beleive it's mostly for the PDA. I tried to downlown the demo and it didn't come thru. I will try again..
