Walmart has some great ones, both cast iron and ceramic.
$15 to $45

Lodge makes a great dutch oven you could use for those cooks. It should be considerably cheaper than Le Creuset.

Essex's lodge rec. is good. See if the restaurant supply houses in your area carry lodge. you will save some bucks.
good luck

lodge is the way to go. have many pieces never a problem. if your ever near their outlets, even better prices.

I echo the Lodge recommendation. I have two styles and love them. Great quality - old company. Besides just like your egg itself your Lodge is also a lifetime investment that your heirs will fight over when you're gone! :laugh:Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

Lodge has an enamel cast. If you live close to an outlet it is much cheaper.

I've looked at a bunch and i'm going for the Lodge Logic when I buy.

i agree with the majority, lodge is good. i got mine at an outlet store near the TN/GA border for around $20, and they had a large selection of other cooking stuff. got some teflon kabob skewers, too. those are awesome.
had to make mac n'cheese one night cause the power was out and we didnt have anything else to eat. probably the best mac n' cheese ever.
once you get one, search the site for the chicken alfredo pot pie. its killer. -
If you have a Marshall's or TJ Maxx near you, they often stock Lodge stuff. I got my large cast iron skillet for $12-14 there.

you could do those dishes in a cast iron fry pan, a pyrex lassagna casserole pan, those earthen ware french onion soup bowls etc., you probably already have something that would work in your kitchen cabinet. ive seen cheaper enamel castiron in marshals and in the sporstmans guide that would also work, i have one dutchoven no named version from marshalls that works as good as my lecruset in the egg, maybe not as good for use on a simmer plate on my stove, but in the egg its fine.fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it
