We had a nice cool weekend and last night I had to reach for a sweatshirt.....I had a turkey breast on the LGE and was roasting half a bushel of green chiles with the weed burner.
Got up this morning to see the overnight was 33°.

What coldest temp cook you have done ,I did -17 ribs in Jan 08
Dave -
I guess at -17 you dont have to worry about flies landing on the ribs when you set them off to the side for a minute while you shut down the egg. Maybe there are other challenges though......

Got to love Wyoming, we're 31 here.

Well you dont pull out the lawn chair and wait for it to come to temp ,you pull close to the door so you can look out the window and see it .

Ahhhhh coolness. Were gonna get your cold front moving in tomorrow. Today they say 90, tee shirt, shorts and flip-flops for me.
When you retire, where you gonna move to? Someplace less windy and cold.? How 'bout Wisconsin!....on the other hand, forget THAT idea, that was silly. :pinch:
We do have some great fishing, hunting.... and many trees that block the wind. -
I've cooked in that neighborhood too. Winter time all nighters are no problem. It's funny once the Egg gets up to temp, it doesen't know the difference. Winter doesen't slow me down in the smoked salmon department either

Where do you live?Happy Trails~thirdeye~Barbecue is not rocket surgery

I'm thinking a smaller town is the ticket for retirement. This city of 49,000 is getting a little crowded. I don't know where we're going to put everybody.

Evanston.
I've not done a winter cook yet. I drag my egg in and out of the woodshed, I'll start it in there this winter, give me a little insulation. -
I sold a ThirdHand to a gal from Evanston, if you are her, how is that workin' out for you?Happy Trails~thirdeye~Barbecue is not rocket surgery

It is me. I love it. It's right up there with the AR as my favorite egg tools.

thirdeye,
Our trees are starting to turn already but it's hot this week.
Why don't you do your chiles on the egg? Mine come out great.

When I do a small amount, that works fine. I'm doing a whole years supply, I guess 150 or 200, so it is much faster with the weed burner. Click the link to see what kind of a job you can do on them.
