HELP!!!!!!

Butts went on round 11:00... Temp was around 262 on the maverick. Some how the temps were not moving at all so I went outside to check... The BGE dome temp reads 230 and the grid temp on the maverick reads 290 and now reads 320. I've shut down all vents and it is slowly going back down. What do I need to do??????????

Thanks mike... It's 12:15 here. I got it back down to 260 and it's holding steady there. I appreciate the words of wisdom. Just get me to tomorrow morning!

What Mike said. Butts are famously forgiving and a little time at 300* isn't going to hurt a thing. Just avoid drastic changes in your vents...make small ones and let the Egg gradually move to the new "steady state" (a little engineer lingo) temperature. If it's still too high, adjust a little bit more.

I find in these situations the best thing to do is have a cocktail, for in the end you'll enjoy a great feast regardlesshappy in the hut
