Man these things were huge! What a way to start of the week, and to send the kids off to school (Yay!) Seasoned up with Raising the Steaks and olive oil, standard TRex cook. Took the temp on the 1 pounder after the roast, and it was registering 120°--close enough in my book, and it turned out fabulous. But, I also pulled the bigger one (2lbs+) and guess what? Yup...I had to send it back for another three minutes to bring it to mid-rare. That sucker was rare like you wouldn't believe.
It sure is good to be back from vacation!
Still can't get over what a great sale these were--$9.99/lb for organic/grass-fed cowboy steaks. Yee haw!

Looking Good, $9.99 a pound it great deal for organic grass fed. In Illinois at cost $9.99 nothing special, just because they can.

Mike,
You could not wait until the weekend.

The cow looks great as I have come to expect nothing less from your prepaired cow......however....One must question the sanity of one who says "It sure is good to be back from vacation!" Prehaps to many limonaids!

Sometimes the only cure for a "vacation" is work!!
-
Upon returning, I always made sure I had ample vacation time left to recover from my "vacation"! 8 - )

Hehe...the challenge has been issued. You're on the clock now, Ross
-
Hehe Let me clarify and restate that: It's nice to be back from vacation so that I can eat some good food cooked on the BGEs.
I've gotta see about which of the places would allow us to bring the SBGE next time. -
You're eating way too good, Mike. Our little ratty hamburgers and hotdogs aren't going to satisfy you at the Coop Party. Better bring your Egg and some meat. But then everybody will be hanging out on your side of the Ranch. But then again, maybe not... I have the Margarita Machine and cold Beer LOL.
The Coop Party Countdown continues totally uninfluienced by me. Spring Hen does all the work (my doctor's orders).

Thanks, SC, but I just eat like that when the stuff's on sale I'm looking forward to bringing some goodies down to share with everyone, and still have to find out if I'm going to be sharing a ride with someone or if I'll just be riding solo down to Houston.
I enjoyed visiting with you and Mrs. Hen during the Eggfest in Austin, and would like to have a cold one with you in October. Maybe I'll get lucky and score one of those wooden nickels of yours, too. Are you raffling any of those off before the Coopfest?
I'll send you an email later on this evening after I get back from work. -
Alright Mike - you're KILLING me!! Those look amazing!
Organic + grass fed + looks like Bone-In Ribeye + on sale + NOT TELLING ME WHERE = Frustrated in Bee Cave!!
Hook a brother up - where'd you get the cow?
