Eucalyptus Wood?

No not for cooking but for a camp fire...I have a Eucalyptus tree in my backyard that I will be trimming this weekend. I am going camping in a few weeks and want to take some for the campfire.
My questions are: how will it smell? Stinky, sweet, non descript? Has anyone here ever burned Eucalyptus before?
I am just curious....

All I can think of is Vick's Vapor Rub

Yuck... :pinch:
even though it says "not for internal use", anytime we said we weren't feeling well my grandmother would shove 2 fingers full down our throats & up our noses...I can still taste it 50 years later...
if this smells like that I may clear out the campground & our sinuses :P -
Dont know much about eucalyptus (even had to check your post to spell it right) but if it hasent been dead for a while it will smoke and be hard to start. I have a bunch of oak branches from the storm you can have. :P just take the rain with it.

We really do want your rain...I promise...they say we may get a few passing showers...that will not help fill up Lanier....

I,ve used it to make lump and also as fuel in my lump kiln and there is no Vicks odor at all.It makes excellent lump and is a good fuel wood. This is of course well seasoned wood.

That is good to know...I have lots of limbs to cut so I can definitely save some for later...

It is burned all the time here on the Central Coast of California. It burns fast and hot due to the oils in the wood.
