I know that many deal with Daisy Wheels and rust and wear issues. Some say to put it in the dome and leave it after a cook. Is there anyone that "seasons" their Daisy wheel like a cast iron cooking pan or dutch over?

Hi, mine has seasoned it self by going into the egg at the end of each cook. One oldest one is gunky and put it in at the end of a cook to burn it out a little. Nice as new now.

yes just season it like you would any other cast iron i have done mine once or twice when it got really bad and i really threw some fire to it to clean it up::

I do the same thing. It keeps it very nice and burns of some of the stuff. JD

I need to put my on after the cook because the wheel doesn't spin anymore. I also have trouble just getting it to open all the way if it has sat for more than two days.

I store mine in my gas grill to get it out of the rain. At least the old gasser still has a purpose.

Awesome Post, I was beginning to get a bit self conscious of my rusty daisy wheel, and feeling as if I were neglecting her . . .
