I just cooked some tonight. 400 degrees on a raised grid, turning frequently, for about 30 minutes..........in the husk!

Cut the silks off on top and put it in the Egg. 350 dome 40 minutes indirect, if direct, turn a quarter turn every 10 minutes. The silk will just come right off when done. -RP

Hey Bama,I like to cook them in the husk.I just pull the husk back and evoo them and put a little shakin the tree on them. Then I replace the husk cook away :woohoo: I do them for an hour (maybe) at 300-350ish

Like our amigos in tijuana
boil or grill it
cover in light coat of mayo
sprinkle mexican grated cheese over mayo
dust with cayenne pepper -
I took a dozen ears last night and cut the kernals off, then took the back of the knife and scraped the rest. Placed in a wok with scallions, bacon bits, grape tomatoes, S/P and some water and white wine and cooked until done about 20-25 minutes. Served with asparagus spears and slipper lobster tails done with s/p and lemon juice and butter. cooked the tails until the meat was white about 10 minutes 350F.

I took 6 ears night before last and cut the kernels off deeply then put them in a food processor with some monteray jack cheese, baking powder, butter, salt, and enough masa harina to get the consistency I wanted. Then wrapped it in the husks with a stick of Colby cheddar and a strip of jalepeno pepper. Then steamed for 45 minutes, god these things are good, so sweet like eating cake. -RP

Great idea. Perhaps another option is cooked mexican chorizo, drained or pulled pork chopped. Viva Tamales!.

Hey, Randy! I heard your brain scan came out negative! :woohoo: Just kidding, of course, buddy! Hoping your scan results are very good news indeed. Say hey to your dear Kim for Joan and I........

Naw, we put meat in the tamales when it is winter time and the corn isn't good. These are to celebrate the fantastic corn this time of year. -RP
