I just keep it simple most of the time. EVOO, Kosher Salt, fresh ground black pepper. Sit at room temp for an hour. Then TRex. Sorry no link to that process. If you live in the KC area, I'll be doing a demo cook in Belton tomorrow.
I'll have 2 slabs of ribs, fatties and a Trex Demo on a flat iron.

how hot do you using bring the egg up to ? 600-700?

600 is fine anything above that and you risk toasting a gasket.
