Hello everyone! I have been wanting a BGE for a long time. My wife and kids just bought me a large BGE and a bunch of eggcessories for Father's Day and I'm really psyched! I haven't opened the boxes yet - I'm getting ready for camping this coming weekend, much to do - but I'm really looking forward to cooking on the egg.
Great forum you have here - I'm sure I'll learn lots!

Wont take long to be eggddicted -
Man that is one fine Father's Day present. My first concern is that you have not opened the boxes yet. I just don't understand how you can just let it sit there. And as for going camping this weekend, you could cancel the trip and then you would have all weekend to get in some cooks.
Seriously, welcome and have a great weekend. You had better hold on to that wife, she is a definite keeper.Larry

Camp in the yard near the egg.

Welcome from another new guy who's wonderful wife bought
him a large BGE. Now..as to the camping... sounds like
you might need a mini or small to take with you....

That suggests a new Eggcessory. The Egg over-nighter pup tent, with butt or brisket flag.

I just posted this link on another thread but it's really good info to get you out of the gate in the right direction:

Welcome to the forum.
What a great Father Day's present. Looking forward to hearing about your cooks.
Make sure you read the instructions and if you are putting it together yourself, be careful and check the gasket area for leaks. If you have questions jump on the forum and ask.
