At the Pete Alewine Pool and Spa store ( and EGG store ) ACCOLADES to all EGGERS. Bente, Fidel, Steeler fan, and YB, and many others. Saw low n slow , high speed low drag cookin...from steak...stuffed pork loins...wings aplenty of many assortments as only eggers know how to do. How bout bacon wraped pickled watermelon rines...shrimp stuffed b s s l..chicken boobs...stuffed peppers served by a super young egger. All was DLISH. Mrs smiles was over come from the good eats then the hot Georgia weather got to her. Got her cooled down on the ride back to Gray Court, S. C. all is well. Can't say enough about the food and the time and effort put forth by ALL EGGERS. I thing only EGGERS are so giving, Maybe a little more seasoning and time Ole Miles can do it to it. All that were cookin YOU DONE GOOD. See you in Hotlanta. Miles out.

Nice to have me you. We had a great time, met so many names from the forum which was great. Even Bente was nice for a change. I think there may have 200 people for the first CSRA Eggfest. I think when YB get's home he can probably give a more accurate count. Look out Hot Atlanta, we had the same problem too many people and not enough space. I think the dealer sold so many eggs he ran out and had to get more. What a wonderful problem to have.

AMEN Bro. Your wings were super good. Nice to have met you and wifey. I guess an ole Deadskin fan can say thank y'all. Those wings with the D. P. Swamp Venom were XLent. Atlanta can't get here fast enough. So many EGGERS to meet so little time. Keep eggen and fight the neighbors away from the food. Miles out.

Hey Miles, glad to hear you had a good time at your first fest. I've been to a couple now and I'm always amazed that the forum members you meet face to face for the first time, are exactly the way I pictured them. I recognized Flapoolman walking into the hotel, and I had never even see a picture of him. Terry was probably the only one you've met before today, did experience the same thing? -RP

AZRP, you got that right, but who could miss Bente...Our tallest egger, and photo bug...maybe next to EGRET " The bread man. " or Tropical dude. Their egg porn gets the ole slava flowing. Who would have thunk it ???. Medium in fired up...Burgers to go on soon. Miles out.

It was a great day at the Eggfest in Evans/Augusta today. Would guestimate about 200 visitors with 15 Eggers cooking. A typical Eggfest - so much food - so little time! A few additions to Miles of Smiles list - Tony's London Broil, David's Salmon, Damon's Steaks and Peanut Butter Cookies, Michael T's Panko Chicken Wings plus ribs, JM3's family cooked all day - corn-on-the-cob & bananas, to name a few things...just too much to remember it all right now. Will post some pictures later that Mrs. YB took. Thanks to all the Eggers & to Pete Alewine,Brett Sitton, & Amber Sidel & all the employees at the Pool & Spa for making it possible. We're already looking forward to next year. See everyone in Greenwood and/or Atlanta!

well we certinally had a blast.. my friend mike drove down from murphysborough tn thursday night. we did all of our prep work friday night got up early this morning and drove down there...

we were really impressed with the people there the staff took care of us asked us what we need.. and provided well for us...

it was my first time cooking in fron of a bunch of potential eggers.. was alot easier than i expected. since we did all of our prep ahead of time all i had to do was decide which flavor to throw on the egg.. i did stuffed tenderloin one i have posted here before and one i made up over the last week.. the one was stuffed with sun dried tomato, spinach, and cheese. the other was stuffed with apples, raisens, and green onion...

fidel was the man i think he made three or four diffrent things, including :the chicken, bacon wrapped tater tots, and some flat irons... we had a blast cooking next to each other.... unfortunatly he was really quick on the draw at the cash register and he bought me two of john henry's rub.. i will try them soon... thanks alot fidel i did not expect that

fiero guy is the one with the longest lens on a camera today i noticed him taking several shots hopefully he will feel like posting some of those pictures ;) hint hint

YB was in his element cooking from the time we got there till the end.. he made me more certian i need to place a mustard order :cheer:

and however nice steeler guy said i was i have to admit i was a pretty happy camper today..

talked with smokey he kept trying to make sure i did not get to try some of his stuff :( but i snuck some in anyway ;)

and as always good to see miles

i did get some pics not very many but here they are

and finally the best picture i took today

    2008-05-31010.jpg

all in all thanks members and potential buyers i had alot of fun... here is the tenderloin recepie:::

    Pork, Tenderloin, Stuffed, Bente

    Pork Tenderloins butterflied
    1 cup chopped apple
    1/4 cup chopped raisins
    1/2 cup chopped green onions
    3 tbs balsamic vinegar
couple shakes of your favorite rub

1 put couple shakes of rub on the butterflied tenderloins
    2 add balsamic vinegar
3 spread onions, raisins, and apples over tenderloin..
4 roll tenderloin up, and tie.. do not worry if some of the stuffing comes out but get it tight enough to keep most of the mixture in..

YB nice to have met the missus and daughter. Good to put some faces on the handles/names too. Darn I wish you didn't mention the cookies as I missed them. However, I and CR had a good time and as you say so much food and so little time!

I finally made it home - long drive. The heat got pretty tough there for a bit, but we had a great time. The staff at the shop really bent over backwards to make us comfortable.

Terry's pork tenderloin with spinach and sun dried tomatoes was really good. Other things that were cooked include: Mike (fieroguy) did some panko crusted wings and ribs, Damon put out some really great flank steaks before those peanut butter cookies. There were some grilled bananas, a sweet potato souffle, salmon, turkey...I'm sure I'm missing someone or something, and I'm sorry in advance.

I have to say that the best feedback I got was from "the chicken". I did full thighs and cooked around 35 of them total. I took my adjustable rig so I was able to load it up pretty good. Everyone loved it. Thanks again Randy for giving me the greenlight to offer it up today.

And the bacon wrapped tots disappeared as fast as I could pull them off. I finished them with straight maple syrup for the last 2-3 minutes of the cook to caramelize, then drizzled them again after they came off.

The one thing that was missing was ABTs. I didn't see a single one cooked all day.

I did confirm with the staff that they did in fact sell out of eggs at about 1:00 and had to go to their distributor/warehouse to re-stock. There were a lot of eggs rolling out of the parking lot before the demos were even shut down.

I had a blast!!! And before anyone asks - I forgot my camera so no shots from me. :(

There were a few other cameras floating around, I know a couple people took some shots of food cooking, and there was a photo of me, you and Damon taken at one point - it was kind of a blur at that point.

Hopefully some of those photos will show up soon.

WOW! I have been working with Pete for seven years and I have never seen the store so crowded! I know we will not stop talking about this Eggfest for a long time. My hat goes off to the Eggers. It became VERY hot, but the smiles continued from all of you outside. Our customers were treated "egg-ceptionally" well. The food was phenomenal. I especially liked the watermelon rinds wrapped in bacon. The chicken thighs…whooooee. This was Pete’s (my husband) first Eggfest. He did the turkey and sweet potato casserole. He said he had a blast meeting you all. Couldn’t believe the distance that some of you traveled.

Thank you all for making this event a great one! The Alewine staff can't wait till next year. I heard Brett and Amber planning it already! HA… See you in Atlanta. :cheer:

That is a BEG apron (folded down). It was a hot day and I took it of after shortly after cooking.

What a great time with fantastic people.

Our Host, Pete Alewine Pool and Spa were just as nice as you can imagine. My hat goes off to them with hopes that their business will see a big increase.

People approached many of us cooking asking question as if we worked there. I was funny to see the looks on faces of people when they leaned we just came out to see our fellow eggheads and cook. I guess it is understandable, but still allot of fun.

What a great gathering of people and wonderful food! The people at Pete Alewine Pool and Spa were nicer than family (and more accomodating)!

Thank you to everyone for such a wonderful day!

BTW, I called my wife on the way home only to be asked to pick something up to make on he egg. So I cooked a little more!

What I did was trim them of most of the skin and external fat before cooking, I served them up whole on 4" plates.

A lot of people commented that they wouldn't be able to eat that much, but I saw nothing but bare bones in the trash can. Your recipe was a huge hit.

Hey man - you're not alone. I took the kids swimming when I got home, and am eating a pulled pork sammie now.

    It's addictive I tell ya!

It was a true pleasure having time to chat with you and get to know you better Damon.

Good job, I had the same comments with drumsticks, if I had an adjustable rig, I could have made a serious amount of drumsticks. As it was I could only do 24, kind of limited the tasters. -RP

I think I could have given out another full batch. I had two full grids as full as I could get them. The rig makes it easy, that's for sure.

Maybe in October you need an XL.....

I'm still going to play around with doing BS thighs and chop them up, maybe tomorrow. I've got a busy week coming up, going to NC Tuesday thru Thursday, then going to my SIL's graduation in Phoenix on Friday morning. Then my neighbor who owns PSE Archery called and asked me to cook 6 butts for a get together of their video production people on Saturday. Guess I'll be busy. -RP

I did have a chance to make it up there to the Eggfest.. It was a great event. I saw ALOT of people in and out of the store. I tried to stay out of the way of everyone.. I did see Bente slicing up a a bunch of stuff. I believe it was YB who offered me some sausage.. It was great. Thank you for offering. I was looking for my buddies Sam and Diane from ATl but I guess they did not make it down. I guess I will catch them on the competiton trail down the road again.

I look forward to next year.. I can see this event really growing for our area... You never know, maybe into an EGGFEST cookoff??? Hint.. Hint... Probably could do it at Patriots park too.

Still having fun with my egg. I even picked up some BGE charcoal today at the store and some of that BGE maple season. It was great on my chicken this evening. I have to try it on some ribs Sunday.
