I am thinking of gettng a burger press for making perfect uniform patties that won't fall apart. Does anybody use one that you can recommend?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I've used this plastic one for years. Bought it at a kitchen appliance store many moons ago. No brand name on it. You just learn the right size ball of meat to form and then press it down! Clean up is EZ!!! Makes perfect 1/3rd pound burgers!

and speaking of burgers - here's a post I made earlier today.

i normally just take about 3lbs of ground beef, season it up really well, and then put it into a jelly roll pan that has saran wrap on the bottom and up the sides.
then i put more saran wrap on top, and use a rolling pin to roll the meat evenly throughout the pan.
then i put it in the freezer for about 15 minutes to let the fat resolidify.
then i slice the meat into evenly shaped squares (because Publix makes TERRIFIC potato rolls that are square) and then after slicing, i put it back in the freezer for 10 minutes.
you can then individually wrap them, or cook them up.
they cook quickly and are great for mouths of all sizes. -
Thanks for the info!
I saw one that looks like it's made of stainless steel and it came with a box of paper to wedge between the patties.
I wanted to see if anyone here uses one and varify that they do the job. Would hate to get something that just ended up takeing up more space! -
I don't have this one...yet, but I think I'm going to order shortly.

I have a cast aluminum press and to tell the truth quit using it. The patties frequently stick in it and got tired of cleaning it. It really doesn't make the patties any better at staying together so I mold them by hand. My wife seems to like using it but I am too lazy. :P

Here's the one I use. Love it. No plumping effect, I use plastic wrap which keeps the press clean, and the patties can be frozen right away, or cooked now. The price is right too.
