I just couldn't stand it. Did bacon wrapped tots last night served with a 1000 Island/Adobo dipping sauce, and a salad with, ...what else?. Took a chance and wrapped the tots while they were still frozen and then let them thaw, so I didn't bother toothpicking. It worked fine. The bacon just drew up nice and snug around the tots, and I just rolled them once at 30 minutes. The disposable screens are great for stuff like this. This is a cool recipe.
Thanks Vidalia1

They are addicting... ...but too yummy to the tummy...and they make great pictures :woohoo:
sorry you fell off the wagon but what a way to go... -
Those look good Mike, care to elaborate on the thousand/adobo sauce? -RP
-
That looks tasty. What is that dipping sauce?
-
Man that looks good. I've been think'n about those bacon wrapped Tater-Tots lately and came to the confusion that they would be a great breakfast food. Just by adding some eggs and you would have bacon, eggs and hash-browns. Add a bloody mary, biscuits and some grits and life would be complete.
Worth Eggsperimenting with.
Thanks.

I just take 1000 Island and add the sauce (to taste) from a can of Chipotle Peppers in Adobo Sauce. Gives it a nice, smokey kick, and is really tasty on all kinds of dipable stuff. Knowing you, you'd just add about a TBS. of 1000 Island to the peppers. :woohoo:

Wow! That is a great idea! How'd you get so smart? Next time I'm just going to use Hickory Smoked Bacon. The pack of Maple I used was a little too sweet for me.
Man, I like that breakfast idea!

Yea when Papa Sam and Ms. Diane came up with these at the Florida Fest I knew they were going to be a big hit and be a staple in the EGg world.
Glad to see the 1000 Island back on your plate, you had me worried. -

Lawn Ranger,
I got to try them tater tots ASAP. For Mother's Day I made crab cakes on the Egg per the Brennans of New Orleans recipe. They didn't hold together very well, so they turned more into a crab "hash" - still delicious. I was so busy pulling together multiple courses that I neglected to take a picture of the crab. My girls however decided to finish their meal with marshmallows cooked (torched) on the Egg:

Nice tots!

Can go a couple ways with these guys we caught today. My favorite is blackened but will save one for redfish on the half shell. The one on the bottom right has ten spots, 6 on one side and four on the other. Gotta geaux clean the Geaux Tiger boat and get out the electric knife.
