I think you should start with burgers or steaks. Chicken is also a great first cook. Checkout www.nakedwhiz.com for some additional recipes. Can't go wrong with either.

ok just so you know most people like to have the caps lock turned off...

second congrats on the new egg i am sure you are excited... you will wonder how you ever grilled without one....

one word of advice keep the egg below 500 for the first 8-10 cooks.. this will give the glue that holds your felt gasket in place a little time to really get stuck to your egg... i never did it and had no problems but there seems to be a rash of people who have "fried" their gasket by not following that advice....

make sure to look at the linqs others have provided... watch the flashback movie at The Naked Whiz it is a real eyeopener....

also here is a simple recepie that you can do on your first cook that will give you a oppertunity to play with the vents so you can learnm heat control..
    Chicken, Thighs, "Lemonade"

    INGREDIENTS:
    1 Family Pack Chicken Thighs
(I use skinless or just remove the skin. Breast meat
    works well for this too.)
    Marinade
    1 cup Italian Dressing
    1 cup Lemonade
1 1/2 tsp Dizzzy Pig Shakin the Tree
(You could scale this, but keep the ratios
    the same.)

1 Marinate overnight or up to a day. If you
2 notice the meat turning white with little
3 pink left, remove from marinade.
4 When you’re done marinating, make sure you
5 pat them dry. Liberally sprinkle the
6 rub on the meat, including under the skin
7 if you left it on. Refrigerate for at least
8 hours or up to a day. Remove from refrigerator
9 minutes before you plan to start cooking and
10 spray with a light coating of canola oil.
11 I cook them at about 350 raised direct for
12 Until the juice runs clear or they hit 170.
13 I've been meaning to try a 250 cook with smoke.
