Has anybody tried a pressure washer on a plate setter? Is this even a good idea? Or am I just crazy?

I would be a little concerned about the moisture in the platesetter if you plan on using it before it dries completely. It might expand and crack the ceramic. Just my 2 cents.

I'd go with crazy. :woohoo: Just kidding. Why would you want to. Just fire up the egg to 600 for an hour and let that sucker burn off any residual gunk.

Pressure washed my pizza stone - looked the same before and after.

I agree with Mike....put it in and fire it up....hell, might as well cook a pizza since everything is so hot anyway...

Make sure you have a steak in EVOO ready go on after that hour. :woohoo:

Why?
That is a platesetter in there.. -
you've already heard the remedies, but may I offer this suggestion in the future? Any time you will be egging something greasy or you will be saucing the meat cover the main part of your setter with foil. It makes clean up so simple. Besides I've seen some cruddy plate setters in use that even I as an avid egger will politely refuse food from.Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.
