One of the things that I miss most of all from the new forum is where is the person that is a member of the forum from? USA duh. The old forum had the state and town where they live which I thought was a great thing to know especially if you found out it was someone in your immediate area and could via a phone call help each other out with a problem or whatever.I do think 99.9% of the people on the forum are in the USA. Just my two penny's worth.
What is your thought?

I agree. Dont think it's too much info for city & state.

Different forums I belong to list town and state or just state. I believe it would be a good idea to have it here.

I agree with you 100%. When I started putting together a list of Texas Eggheads six or seven years ago I went to the profiles and looked up all of those who had Texas as their home state. I know I missed quite a few because not everyone entered anything other than their handle.
Then I emailed those I could email to see if they would be interested in holding a Texas Eggfest. I got a lot of "undeliverable's" because their profiles were seriously out of date. But most of those who received the email responded back quickly saying they were ready for an Eggfest.
Unfortunately, I suddenly found myself going through another near death experience and had to get uninvolved in the project. Fortunately, GrillMeister picked up the banner and ran with it, and we had our first Texas Eggfest shortly thereafter.
Maybe if not City and State, how about Zip Code? Then it would be even easier to narrow down neighboring Eggheads.
Just a thought...

I agree - the profile should be expanded to make that disclosure at least optional. I imagine though the original intent was mask it the same way as the email address is "protected".
BTW Happy Valentine's Day to all you lady eggers and a male bonding grunt to all you guys!Re-gasketing America one yard at a time. -
UGH!!

This is a good example. Where does Darnoc live? Who lives in his area? We don't need personal addresses. Does he live near me in Texas or near you wherever?

At the very least we could put our city/town and state in our signature like Ontario did so when someone posts at least our location will show then.

Except mine didn't. How now?

I agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went back to my profile and put in a signature. That works if you want to let fellow eggers know where you are from.

I'm with you. Although Michigan isn't known as a BBQ hot spot there has to be some eggers around here somewhere. I've been trying to sell it to everyone I talk too. They're getting tired of hearing me talk about it and my wife thinks I'm crazy for taking pics of food and posting it on the internet. Oh well. Off to shovel the driveway. Again.

Do you live near melbourne Fl.?? My royal oak lump bill was $60 last month :( & thats just for 2 larges.

Miller House is beginning to calm down a little now and I should think if you ask them nicely maybe they would post a survey to see how folks feel

Trouble is, even though I'm from Canada, I'm listed as being from the US, and can't figure out way to change it (can edit some info, but not that). That's why I added to my list of cookers the info that I'm from Ontario, Canada (and proud of it!).

Good to see you again!
How have you been mike. Shoot me an e-mail if you'd like. -
Well Michigan may not be the hot spot but at least I know there are two of us at least!!!
