When I was hooking up the GURU today I noticed that the fan no longer slides " easily " into the adaptor door, any know of a safe and effective lubricant I can use to help matters?

i put a little crisco on there just to make it slide a little better i think my instructions said to do that every once in a while

You'll probably want a non-petroleum-based lubricant in case the area treated gets hot enough to vaporize it. Why not get a paper towel with EVOO and wipe the adapter and door slots down with it?

I use a squirt of Pam. (Even if the fit is good it will keep the O-ring from cracking).

Just to add. It is probably cold where you are. I have noticed that when I first push it in cold it is hard but once it heats up it slides out easy.

General rule of thumb is if it don't fit don't force it. (does not apply to married life). :P If all is clean use silicone lubricant. It won't clean the tracks but will help move it out of the way.

For what its worth, I never take my fan out of the adapter, unless you are using it on other cookers with different adapters, there is no reason to remove it. -RP
