Since we're back on the Atkins diet to shed some holiday lbs, I have to get creative with meals to stick with it. This is Alton Browns recipe and its really good. Cooked it to 170 then rested to 175.

Thin sliced it and added red onion, grape tomatoes, and msde some tzatziki sauce.

Very low carb, but could have used some pita bread. -RP

hey, those look great. I have got to find Alton Browns recipe as Gyros are one of my favorite foods. There is a place in Athens, Ga. that makes the best Gyros i have ever had and i prefer their feta cheese dressing on mine but can never seem to duplicate it. Good luck with shedding those pounds.
  • sheep tacos! :woohoo:

They look great. Did you slice them lengthwise or on the bias? There was a recipe someone put out about a year ago where you also mix in some ground beef. It was perfect. I grew up in/near a greek community, so having good gyro meat is important! Our best to you two in the new year!

That looks outstanding! I was going to ask where the pita bread was, but then remembered that Atkins does not have much carb in the diet.

Off to go get AB's gyro recipe from your other post...
