Anybodty have problems with the side shelves? I bought an egg about 6 months ago. My side shelves are horrible. They are always falling apart, they bend at odd angles and I am just waiting for them to collapse when I have a plate of rib eyes on them. I put them together properly according to the directions. Is it just me? Apart from this small nuisance I love grilling on teh egg.

    Matt,
I have them on my XL and other than if something were to bind up, they work fine...maybe you need to tighten the slats down a little tighter on the metal framework....only issue I've ever had...HTH[p]Wess

    Matt,
As Wess B said tighten the slats; but also tighten the scres and nuts that attach the wings(shelves) to the frame.
These come loose sometimes. Maybe you need to replace the washers as well.
I've got them on two of my eggs, and never a problem.

Matt,Here are a couple of pics of what I did. I had some of this mesh laying around, so I cut them up, removed the wood and screwed these in. Much more stable, Cathy

    Matt,
Not doubting your engineering skill here, but, it just sounds like something wasn't put together quite right. Can you take some close-up pics and post?
