I'm purchasing a large tomorrow. I would like to know if the new extended platesetter that sits on the fire ring alleviates the need for a second grid? I don't know if inverted with a drip pan if the setter would get too hot or if the grid on the setter would be too low. Any information appreciated.

You only need one grill with the plate setter. The plate setter will rest on the fire ring, then you can place the grill on the place setter.
