<p />Here goes my second attempt to post a photo...[p]After almost two months of construction (evenings, weekends, etc.), my outdoor kitchen was completed at the end of June - just in time for our celebration on the Fourth.[p]The table is twelve feet wide with the sides coming out six feet. I made it out of treated lumber and stained pine car-siding. The top is concrete board and ceramic tile. Hot and cold running water in the commercial sink is a huge plus.[p]The wall behind the counter has the electrical service and the lighting.[p]Currently have "Lefty" loaded with three racks of ribs and will be using "Righty" later for some cornbread.[p]Comments

LabRat,
S W E E T !!!
What people may not know is that you live in Illinois and outdoor kitchens like yours are not commonplace like they are in other parts of the country so that makes yours all that more special!
BTW John, now I understand why we haven't heard from you since June! First you were too busy building that fine set up and then too busy using it!

LabRat,
Fantastic setup. I bet you will have some great cooks at your new bar and kitchen. One of the better setups that I have seen.

LabRat, OK, you got it! And one beautiful kitchen. Want to do something similar with overhead cover (we're in Texas), refirgerator and fans.

EagerEagger,
"...with overhead cover (we're in Texas), refirgerator and fans?" Hummmmm! I've got an idea... Oh yea, you've already seen my idea of a Texas outdoor kitchen.[p]Spring "Chicken Coop Builder & Operator" Chicken

LabRat,
Really great job! I'll be starting mine this fall/winter. I want to see if I can get another egg at Eggfest so that mine will have a younger brother. Right now my egg is an only child.Haha. I've been debating about the materials to use for outdoors. What led you to use the pine for outdoors? It looks like you etched and stained your concrete floor. Is that acid wash? Anyway, you certainly have an area you can be proud of!!!

-
LabRat,
That is an awesome looking outdoor kitchen. Gives me so many ideas for the future.
-
Big'un,[p]Thanks for the kind words. [p]I went with the car siding because I liked the fact that the tongue and groove provides enough overlap to handle any shrinkage. I went with the (untreated) pine because it cost less than the cedar and I've always felt that cedar wasn't as structurally strong. It's going to be more work keeping it stained, but it matches the deck.[p]A year ago we stained the concrete patio and did some landscaping in preparation for this year's project. It was an acid based product by Solomon.

LabRat,
Very nice!!!!

LabRat,

LabRat,
Another in the "Wickid Pissah" class. Excellent job![p]I love the way you camouflaged the beer openers.
-
LabRat,
Good Job on the kitchen, I see that you are just a bit south of me in Il. Did you use a special cement or grout on the tile? i am just completing my deck and want to build an egg nest with a tile top. But am conserned that here in Michigan the tile would pop when exposed to the weather.
thanks
