I noticed that after I shut down my egg temp was still pretty high and The body of the egg was warm for hours. Aso when you reach the right temp do you shut down both top and bottom? Thank You

Prefectly normal to stay warm for a long time. Part of the secret to cooking with ceramics.[p]You start closing the vents BEFORE you reach your desired temp. Do not close them completely until you want to shut the egg down.[p]Spacey

marvelous,[p]Since the daisy wheel top is cast iron putting it on the egg as it cools down helps to keep it seasoned and prevents rust.[p]I also put a piece of foil over the top vent before putting the ceramic cap on. It just seems to help starve the fire more quickly.[p]Hope that explains it,[p]Bruce
