ABT meat? help

Anyone use meat other than pulled pork for ABT? I have none around. The bge site lists hamburger. If you use the hamburger do you pre-cook it?[p]

all the recipes I have seen call for cooked meat, so I'd say yes. My first ever batch is going on tonight, used some diced ham, because that is what i have left over...

My favorite is fresh (not cooked) HOT italian sausage and covered with Italian blend grated cheese. After cooking the "hot" sausage will not be very hot and neither will the pepper. I use this because I like it, and I can always run to the local meat counter and buy ready made sausage. [p]HTH,

ABT-less,
no pun intended, but whatever meat floats your boat! (BTW a jalapeno pepper cut lengthwise is commonly referred to as a "boat".) As for the choice of meat to be joined with the Philly Cheese again that's YOUR call. Many eggers use Smokies or Cocktail Weinies or shrimp or leftover "this and that". Why not get wild and then tell us what worked to float YOUR boat!

Crab meat is the best thing I have found. Not cheap but very good. Shrimp is good also.

ABT-less,some posted on the board the other day that they use taco meat. haven't tried it yet but sounds like a natural to go along with the jalapeño peppers

Yep. I do the same. Fatties, fatties, fatties. It's great. I also put sliced chicken that I had grilled covered in Ragin River.
