Traveling Prime Rib - Need recommendations.

I have a 3 bone in Prime Rib that I'm going to egg for my father for Father's Day and take it up to him. He lives 6 hours away so I'm needing recommendations on the best way to take it up to him.[p]I was thinking of letting it rest, cut it and then let each slice cool down and then vacuum seal each slice and its juices.[p]Or should I just let it rest after pulling until it gets to room temp, then just wrap in foil and take up in a cooler? [p]I know he'll freeze some of it so I'm thinking of going ahead and just cutting and vacuum sealing. [p]Thoughts and or suggestions are appreciated.
